Shohoku, a high school basketball team on the road to the
National Tournament. The front man is a feisty redhead by the name of Hanamichi
Sakuragi who only joined the team to impress a girl and in the process learns
the joy of the sport. But he realizes that many obstacles stand in the way of
their dream including bitter punks, tough opponents and even tougher rivals.
